Company Overview: Art With Jenny is a dynamic, innovative, creative, and brand-new art studio located in downtown Los Altos, CA.  We are committed to bringing art and music classes, parties, events, and workshops to our local community.  As a WordPress Website Intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our online presence and gain valuable experience in website management and maintenance.

Job Description: As a WordPress Website Intern, you will work closely with our founder to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of our company website. This role offers a unique opportunity to use your skills in website management, content updates, design, and search engine optimization (SEO) while gaining practical experience in a fast-paced digital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Website Updates: Assist in updating website content, including text, images, and multimedia elements, using the WordPress content management system (CMS).
  2. Photo & Logo Resizing: Resize photos and logos to fit different websites and social media platforms as needed.
  3. Plugin Management: Monitor and update WordPress plugins and themes to ensure compatibility, security, and performance optimization.
  4. SEO Optimization: Support SEO initiatives by implementing on-page SEO techniques, including meta tags, headings, and keyword optimization, to improve website visibility and search engine rankings.
  5. Performance Monitoring: Monitor website performance metrics, such as page load speed and user experience, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  6. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular website audits to identify and address any technical issues, broken links, or formatting inconsistencies.
  7. Backup and Security: Assist in implementing website backup and security measures, including regular backups, malware scans, and security plugin updates, to safeguard website integrity.
  8. Content Management: Collaborate with the owner to ensure timely publishing of new content and updates on the website.
  9. User Experience (UX) Optimization: Assist in improving website navigation, layout, and usability to enhance the overall user experience and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Digital Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in WordPress CMS and a basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Basic knowledge of SEO principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience with website maintenance or digital marketing is desirable but not required.
  • Looking for someone proactive in making our website run more effectively and/or finding problems or issues before being asked.

  • Part Time: Approximately 3 hours per day starting as soon as possible.
  • Pay: This is an unpaid Internship position
  • Location: In-person or remote
