Company Overview: Art With Jenny is a dynamic, innovative, creative, and brand-new art studio located in downtown Los Altos, CA.  We are committed to bringing art and music classes, parties, events, and workshops to our local community.  As a Finance Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in finance and contribute to our mission-driven organization.

Job Description: As a Finance Intern, you will work closely with our founder to initiate & develop various financial activities and projects. This role offers a unique opportunity to use your skills in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting while gaining practical experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. QuickBooks Setup: Set the company up in QuickBooks & link all financial accounts.
  2. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics to support decision-making processes and strategic planning.
  3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the founder in preparing and updating budgets, forecasts, and financial models to ensure accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.
  4. Accounting Support: Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, expense tracking, and reconciliation.
  5. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements including financial reporting for the past year.
  6. Financial Planning: Participate in financial planning processes, including identifying cost-saving opportunities, analyzing investment options, and evaluating financial risks.
  7. Research and Analysis: Research industry trends, market conditions, and competitor performance to provide insights and recommendations for financial strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and perform calculations accurately.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Previous internship or work experience in finance, accounting, or related fields is desirable but not required.
  • Self-starter – looking for someone proactive in making our finances run more effectively and/or finding problems or issues before being asked.

Other Details:

  • Part Time: Approximately 3 hours per day starting as soon as possible.
  • Pay: This is an unpaid Internship position
